Fisherman Out of Ireland: NEW Slouchy Crew Neck Jumper: Shamrock
Fisherman Out of Ireland: NEW Slouchy Crew Neck Jumper: Shamrock
For the last couple of years Fisherman out of Ireland have asked for my feedback and suggestions for colours and styles, and this jumper was top of the list! Based on the beloved slouch v-neck cardigan this is my dream donegal tweed sweater. Loose crew neck and splits at the side hem rib, loose-ish and comfy without being overwhelming, snuggly and in delicious rich donegal tweed merino yarn. I’m going to be living in my one this winter.
Stunning shamrock green with flecks of sea-green and lime.
Sizing is gently generous but you can go both up or down to change the fit and style. If you know me (all 6’1”) I’m wearing an XL and am very happy with the fit. Not too big, not too tight, just right!
The donegal tweed yarn is possibly my favourite yarn. It speaks of landscape and environment and I could happily get lost in its depths. The yarn is created from fleece dyed prior to spinning and the ‘neps’ (little sparks of colour) are added during the carding process. The base colour of the yarn is a melange, enlivened with the neps.
A word from the company: Fisherman Out of Ireland was founded by the renowned Blarney Woollen Mills family business in 1991. For 30 years now we have been at the forefront of design led Irish knitwear. From the first stitch to the final press, each piece of our entire collection for men and women is made at our knitting factory in Kilcar, County Donegal, a small Gaeltacht (Irish speaking) village rich in the textile tradition and nestled between the Derryveagh mountains and the wild Atlantic ocean. It is this awe inspiring environment, along with the local fishing communities, which constantly feeds our inspiration when creating new yarns, colours and styles for each new Collection. We might be situated on the edge of Europe in the middle of ‘nowhere’ but our 100% natural fibre, quality, contemporary jumpers are shipped far and wide to the 4 corners of the world.
Please be aware these yarns are difficult to photograph due to the variations in the colours. While I do try to get images correct there maybe difference between your device and mine that will affect the colours.
