Lisa Hooper was born in Hampshire and has lived in Essex, mid-Wales, and Gloucestershire before settling in Dumfries and Galloway. Her artistic journey began in 1992 when she joined an evening etching class at the University of Gloucestershire. Over the years, her dedication to printmaking deepened, leading her to buy her own press in 1998. In 2006, following redundancy, she became a full-time artist based in Port William, southwest Scotland.
