Yarmouth Oilskins has been producing workwear garments for over 100 years. Their products are all designed and manufactured in the same factory and use traditional methods and original patterns. How could we not stock a brand so fabulously steeped in this history? All production is done onsite by their team of 20 craftspeople, many who have worked for the company for the last 25 years. Where possible Yarmouth Oilskins use British suppliers and manufacturers and the fabrics are sourced from factories in Yorkshire and Lancashire.

The Fisherman’s Classic Smock was traditionally worn over a knitted sweater as protection and was made from tough cotton sailcloth and was worn loose. It was worn by artists and craftspeople who loved it for its practical workwear simplicity. Here it is made from a classic indigo denim, the fabric is non-stretch and slips over the head. The contrast stitched reinforcing is in the classic ochre colour. The pocket and cuff hems are stabilised with contrast cotton herringbone tape.

The style is simple in shape and has no darts, made traditionally for the male torso. The neckline has a vent at the shoulder seam and a funnel style collar. The sleeves are generously long and there are two patch pockets. The sizing is from small to 2xl, each size jump is double the standard size increase, rather than 5cm between sizes there is 10cm, so please check the measurements below, YO also suggests going up a size for the extra ease if necessary for ease of movement and dressing.
